SUMMARY:AI\, Robotics\, Autonomous Systems and Industry 4.0 … and thanks for all the fish
DESCRIPTION:Will you be waking up tomorrow to the call form an autonomous group of bulldozers that collectively decided that your house needs to get moved to make way for a hyper-speed motorway through your smart city? \nArtificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems are the main driving forces behind the new fourth industrial revolution – a silent revolution that is already happening around all of us\, changing the way we talk\, shop\, and perceive the world. This talk will give you an “in a nutshell” insight into the latest developments of these technologies\, how they work and where we are today. \n\nView event on Facebook\nView event on Meetup\n\n  \nAbout the speaker:\nProfessor Jorn Mehnen is working at the University of Strathclyde in the field of Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. His research interests lie in Advanced Digital Manufacturing for industrial application. Professor Mehnen teaches Digital Manufacturing Concepts\, Design for Industry 4.0\, and Intelligent Sensing\, Reasoning and Deep Learning. \nEvent image via www.vpnsrus.com \n\nDoors at 7.15\, kickoff at 7.30\nThis is a free event and no tickets are required: Just drop-in! \n\nPlease note: Although the event is free\, we will be asking for donations at the end of the talk. Participants are under no obligation whatsoever to donate\, however please rest assured that the money we collect doesn’t end up in anyone’s pocket – it is used to fund our overhead costs\, and travel/accommodation for our speakers who come from further afield. \n\nAccessibility: As per the policy of the Admiral Bar\, access to the venue “can only be provided to patrons who are sufficiently mobile and capable of independently evacuating premises\, or with the minimum of assistance”. Unfortunately\, this leaves the basement inaccessible to most wheelchair users. \n
