SUMMARY:The Trump Test for Dementia
DESCRIPTION:On the eve of Donald Trump’s visit to the UK\, we take a retrospective look at the results of his dementia test\, which he passed with ‘flying colors’. \nDoes being able to identify a rhino mean you are fit to lead the free world? Many people laughed at the Montreal Cognitive Assessment\, which seemed absurdly simple. \nBut what would have been an appropriate test? And how do you tell ‘normal’ from ‘abnormal’ when it comes to memory? \n  \nAbout the Speaker: \nStephen is a geriatrician (aka a doctor who treats older people) in Glasgow\, and researcher into cognition and stroke.\nHe is also a stalwart at Edinburgh Skeptics\, but we won’t hold that against him. \n\nThis is event is free to attend\, although we will be asking for donations at the end of the talk. Participants are under no obligation whatsoever to donate\, however please rest assured that the money we collect doesn’t end up in anyone’s pocket – it is used to fund our overhead costs\, and travel/accommodation for our speakers who come from further afield. \n\nAccessibility: As per the policy of the Admiral Bar\, access to the venue “can only be provided to patrons who are sufficiently mobile and capable of independently evacuating premises\, or with the minimum of assistance”. Unfortunately\, this leaves the basement inaccessible to most wheelchair users. \n
