July 19, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Event Navigation
One of the drawbacks of expertise is that it can frequently ruin the cinematic experience. With the proliferation of explosive content in action movies, Kristen Salzer-Frost frequently has to make extra efforts to suspend her disbelief. Join us as she grabs her blamethrower to point a critical finger at the big screen’s representation of fire.
About the speaker
Kristen Salzer-Frost is a Lecturer in Fire Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University. She started her career in the industry 20 years ago as a Fire Safety Engineer in Australia before moving to the UK. She has worked on projects all over the world, including Australia, Malaysia, Scotland, England, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Italy, and Russia. Her specialties are in computer modelling of fire and evacuation, practical fire safety building design strategies, international fire engineering projects and fire safety design in historic buildings.

Participants are under no obligation whatsoever to donate, however please rest assured that the money we collect doesn’t end up in anyone’s pocket – it is used to fund our overhead costs, and travel/accommodation for our speakers who come from further afield.
