Suicide and self-harm are major public health concerns: indeed, suicide is the leading cause of death of men in mid-life. Prof. O’Connor will explore the complex set of factors that lead to suicidal thinking and behaviour. He will focus on the psychology of suicide and aim to challenge some of the myths surrounding it.
