Asexuality: Thinking Critically about Sexuality
Since the turn of millennium, new sexual orientations have emerged. Asexuality is a sexual orientation defined by a lack of sexual attraction. Asexuality challenges many of the assumptions that Western societies hold about sex, love, and relationships. This talk will briefly introduce Asexuality, and then go on to describe the ways in which researchers have used Asexuality to think critically about sexuality, and contest many assumptions that we take for granted, including monogamy, sexual attraction, and romantic relationships.
