Will you be waking up tomorrow to the call form an autonomous group of bulldozers that collectively decided that your house needs to get moved to make way for a hyper-speed motorway through your smart city?

Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems are the main driving forces behind the new fourth industrial revolution – a silent revolution that is already happening around all of us, changing the way we talk, shop, and perceive the world. This talk will give you an “in a nutshell” insight into the latest developments of these technologies, how they work and where we are today.

About the speaker:
Professor Jorn Mehnen is working at the University of Strathclyde in the field of Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. His research interests lie in Advanced Digital Manufacturing for industrial application. Professor Mehnen teaches Digital Manufacturing Concepts, Design for Industry 4.0, and Intelligent Sensing, Reasoning and Deep Learning.
